East Lancashires 50k Air Ambulance Boost - Lancashire Telegraph 21st May 2008

Thursday, May 22, 2008

HEALTH chiefs have given the North West Air Ambulance a £50,000 cash boost in recognition of its life-saving work in East Lancashire. Since the new helipad at the Royal Blackburn Hospital was opened six months ago, 16 people from the East Lancashire area have been attended by the air ambulance. The helipad, paid for by the NHS as part of the expansion of the Royal Blackburn Hospital, allows patients to be taken by air ambulance to land and be treated in East Lancashire, rather than in other North West hospitals.
