GPS are launching a hard-hitting campaign to save the traditional family doctor service. Doctors' union the British Medical Association is sending out posters with pictures of local shops, post offices and banks which have closed - warning their high street surgery may also be on the way out. They fear traditional surgeries will not survive if the government pushes ahead plans for 250 new super health centres called polyclinics, with some possibly run by private firms.
