Two Society Guardian writers have been recognised for their contribution to challenging discrimination and increasing public understanding of mental health issues. Novelist and columnist Clare Allan has been nominated for the prestigious Mind champion of the year award, while Society Guardian's acting deputy editor, Mary O'Hara, has been shortlisted for Mind journalist of the year award. The Guardian's Bad Science columnist Ben Goldacre is also shortlisted for the journalist award.
