Scotland to build £842m 'health campus' without private funding - The Guardian 23rd April 2008

The largest and most expensive hospital commissioned in the UK is to be built in Glasgow without private finance after Scottish ministers promised £550m for the development. The new Southern hospital in the Govan area of the city will offer private en-suite rooms for 1014 adult patients, a children's hospital with 240 beds, a state-of-the-art screening laboratory and a maternity hospital at a cost of £842m.
