A GOVERNMENT initiative to modernise the NHS is the driving force behind a new pharmacy in Crompton. Run by Assura Pharmacy, is situated inside the Crompton Health Centre and means patients will be able to pick up prescriptions while visiting the doctor. The pharmacy, which opened last week, employs five people and will offer a host of additional services including stop smoking and weight management programmes.
