A SENIOR member of north Cumbria’s hospital staff is taking the trust to a race discrimination tribunal. It has emerged that assistant director of nursing Serena Saiger has launched proceedings against the North Cumbria Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, which manages both Carlisle’s Cumberland Infirmary and the West Cumberland Hospital in Whitehaven, and unnamed others.
