A WOMAN lay for five hours on a hospital trolley without medical staff realising she was suffering from internal bleeding. A Bolton inquest heard that 52-year-old Mildred Bailey was admitted to the Royal Bolton Hospital in September last year after falling down stairs at her home in Gordon Avenue, Deane. Ambulance staff and a triage nurse both recorded her blood pressure as low, but in the accident and emergency department the cause of this symptom was not investigated and she was treated for a fractured hand, elbow and bruising.
