Welcome to my new-look column about life on the NHS frontline. As I am no longer a fledgling in the medical profession, and with the publication of my book Trust Me, I'm a Junior Doctor, based on my previous Telegraph columns, I felt it was time for a change. I hope you'll agree that this is just what the doctor ordered Medicine is full of rules, regulations and guidelines, and these seem to proliferate on a daily basis. Thanks to Whitehall, quangos, hospital managers, primary care trusts (PCTs) and health-and-safety officials, a list of dos and don'ts governs every activity in healthcare, and beyond.
