I AM delighted to see the Health Secretary Alan Johnson is writing to every GP in England to ask them to back a deal on longer surgery opening hours. Question is, will this undermine traditional general practice? I don't think so. Ministers want to see a majority of GP practices offering extended hours and has made an offer that would see an average-sized practice open an extra three hours a week.
