Voluntary organisations to run health care service - Lancashire Telegraph 19th February 2008

CARE for adults with learning disabilities is to be handed over to voluntary organisations after staff were accused of "systematic abuse". East Lancashire Primary Care Trust put its supported living service out to tender at the end of last year after independent inspectors found that old-fashioned care methods in Blackburn, Darwen, Hyndburn and the Ribble Valley were putting clients at risk.
