A surgical swab the size of a handkerchief was left inside the body of a young mother during a Caesarean section, less than two weeks after her hospital was served with a "notice to improve". Sahar Asma Sarfaraz, 26, complained of severe pain soon after giving birth to her first child, Sabrina, at Princess Royal University Hospital in Orpington, Kent on Tuesday. Three days later, an X-ray revealed the swab inside her. It was removed on Friday.
