Strokes are more likely to be fatal during the weekend - The Times 21st February 2008

Stroke victims fare much worse if they suffer their attack at the weekend, a study in the US has found. Researchers who analysed more than 2.4 million hospital admissions for stroke between 1988 and 2004 found that the weekend death rate was 10.1 per cent, compared with 7.9 per cent during the week.
