AMBULANCE bosses have made a new pledge that they will aim to send a paramedic to every life-threatening emergency in Cumbria. This particularly applies to heart attack patients, many of who can benefit from a clot-busting drug which can be administered by paramedics during transfer to hospital. The move aims to soothe fears for people living in and visiting the Lake District in the light of new cuts and closures at the Westmorland General Hospital in Kendal.
