Let's take modest dose of American medicine - The Sunday Telegraph 24th February 2008

Of all the things that make Brits feel superior to Americans, healthcare is right up there alongside gun control and televangelism. We might have our issues, but at least we don't expect poor people to bring their credit cards to hospital. Even Michael Moore reminded us so in his documentary Sicko, which favourably contrasts the NHS with the injustices of the US. Whatever you think of Moore's agitprop, you'd need a heart of stone not to feel some pride watching him celebrate Attlee's heroic post-war creation.
