Plans for a controversial new £12 billion IT system for the National Health Service have suffered a further blow after a leading hospital trust abandoned new software amid claims it posed a risk to patients. It was claimed last night that Worthing Hospital in West Sussex had abandoned the new administration software known as Cerner Millennium in its accident and emergency department.
