The growing burden placed on the National Health Service by Britain's obesity crisis has been underlined by figures showing the number of people needing hospital treatment for the condition has quadrupled. The scale of the obesity crisis facing doctors in England has forced health ministers to urgently draw up a wide-ranging new strategy aimed at encouraging people to eat less and exercise more.
