SUFFERING a collapsed lung 12 years ago forced Pete Ashton to give up his career as a French polisher and rethink his life. At the time it was a huge blow but, looking back, he says it was the best thing that ever happened to him. Nowadays he is making a huge difference, helping mentally ill patients in north Cumbria get out of hospital and turn their lives around.
