KIDNEY disease patients in Southport are set to see “a major step forward” in their treatment with the announcement that our resort will finally get its own dialysis unit. News of the breakthrough marks a major victory by campaigners, who have fought for years to highlight the strain caused by patients’ long journeys out of town for their regular life-saving procedure.
