Toddler undergoing heart transplant saved by 'guardian angel' who raced new heart to hospital after ambulance crash - Daily Mail 2nd December 2007

Three-year-old Laura Whitworth had been kept alive by a machine for several weeks when the message came that her family had longed to hear - a heart was available for transplant. She was taken to the operating theatre at Great Ormond Street children's hospital and her own heart was removed ready for the replacement.
