A DOCTOR who switched off vital equipment during surgery as a training exercise has been cleared of misconduct. Dr James Murphy, 49, turned off the power supply to anaesthetics machinery and told junior colleagues he was going on a coffee break before walking out of the operating theatre, the General Medical Council was told.
