Spain says 'thalidomide was sold' - BBC Health News 7th November 2007

The Spanish authorities have told the BBC that the birth-defect drug, thalidomide, was sold between 1957 and 1961. The admission will be seen as a victory for thalidomide campaigners who want their condition to be recognised.
