Ministry of the flaming obvious - The Sunday Times 4th November 2007

It’s going to be a cold winter this year. Don’t ask me how I know this; it’s a rural thing. Let’s just say I have it on very good authority. Not only are the red deer wearing bobble hats and the swallows booking early flights, but I’ve just noticed that a pile of free glossy brochures from the National Health Service has disappeared from the village shop. They contain advice on keeping warm in winter and they’ve all gone.
