A SERIOUSLY-ill psychiatric patient supposed to be safely detained in hospital after being caught with a gun and a knife has been left at home for seven weeks. Nurses check on the woman - believed to be a risk to herself and the public - by phone. The 41-year-old, from Hulme, waited a week for a bed after a psychiatrist decided she needed hospital care.
