Help! I’m trapped in the Royal hospital! - Liverpool Echo 5th November 2007

A LIVERPOOL man is stranded in hospital because there are not enough carers to help him in and out of bed at home. Spina bifida patient Alan Frackelton, 46, has been told he is well enough to be discharged after his legs were amputated in August. More than a month after he was given the all-clear, he is still unable to return to his wheelchair-adapted bungalow in Aigburth because Liverpool council’s social services department cannot get carers to go in twice a day to help him.
