Tom Mullarkey, chief executive of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents, may well be right that some minor accidents should be an everyday part of childhood (“It’s good for children to hurt themselves at play”, Nov 12), but he is wrong to blame “health and safety extremists” for overprotection of children.
