Four arrested in abortion clinic raids - The Times 27th November 2007

Police arrested at least four people in raids on Spanish clinics suspected of carrying out illegal abortions, officials said. Four facilities run by Carlos MorÍn, a gynaecologist, were being searched, a Civil Guard official claimed. Spain allows abortion in cases of rape, foetal deformation or danger to a woman’s physical or mental health. In the case of mental health, this must be certified by a second doctor. The official said that the raids were ordered after a complaint in January by E-Cristians, a pro-life group, following a Danish television documentary about Mr MorÍn.
