Child’s 12-hour wait in A&E unit - The Bolton News 21st November 2007

A FOUR-YEAR-OLD girl was left waiting for 12 hours at the Royal Bolton Hospital's new children's accident and emergency unit. Little Alana Pennington was taken to the unit, which opened last month, with breathing difficulties by her worried mum, Lynn Owen, after being referred by her family doctor at 5pm on Friday. She arrived at the children's A&E unit at 6pm but was not admitted to a bed in the children's ward for a further 12 hours.
