Simon Crompton peeks behind the scenes Dr Jon Baker, an accident and emergency consultant at the Lister Hospital, in Chelsea, West London, hates trampolines. A week or so ago he saw a ten-year-old boy who had fallen on to the padded edging and ruptured his spleen. If the boy hadn’t turned up at hospital with stomach pains, and had his spleen removed, he would have died.
