Max Pemberton diagnoses an unhealthy case of hypocrisy I am standing in the cold and rain, way past my bedtime, asking a middle-aged woman I've never met before intimate details of how and where she goes to the loo. "Do you normally go round asking people that sort of question?" she asks politely as she hands me a cup of tea. I blush. Two policemen on the other side of the road glare at me suspiciously.
