THE Government has rejected calls from a Cumbrian MP to get a “less intrusive” new cancer treatment used on the NHS saying it is up to individual health care trusts to make any decision over its use. Copeland MP Jamie Reed called on the Department for Health to assess the use, effectiveness and availability Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) - a light therapy which can be used to treat a variety of cancers.
