'Maybe I like pain,' says Gary Cohen, the Australian who has just raised his cash bid for iSoft, the company in charge of computerising the NHS. Richard Northedge hears the story The £12bn scheme to computerise the National Health Service almost bankrupted the iSoft software company. The project is four years late, over budget and the consultants at Accenture last year walked away and wrote off £240m rather than risk further losses. Australian businessman Gary Cohen is nevertheless determined to take over this troubled contract.
