Many patients who undergo this endoscopic procedure are able to return to normal activities within 24 hours. The university will play a major part in new research into treatment of diseases of the nervous system such as Alzheimer's, Huntington's, Parkinson's and Motor Neurone Disease (MND). Lancaster forms part of a new North West Local Research Network which will receive £400,000 annually to carry out the research.
